The South Asian region and its economic development are highly dependent on the energy sector. To ensure that development is sustainable, it is important that the actions taken to enhance and improve the energy sector are based on renewable energy sources, include regional cooperation, and contribute to collective development through sharing of resources. This research report focuses on identifying gaps in policies and regulations in Sri Lanka to implement the country's Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) for renewable energy, with a primary focus on solar and wind energy.
